Church Reimagined

After struggling spiritually for many years from traditional church burn-out, and ordinary church services not filling the void that yearned for a deeper experience in Jesus through worship and serving, God gave me direction to my purpose. I am desperate for a deeper understanding of the word of God coupled with fresh anointing and new revelations. I’m also yearning for a healing space that is pure in heart and free from tradition, criticism, and hypocrisy for connecting people to Jesus, and each other, The time has arrived, in 2025, that we (Christians) reimagine church, What are some out-of-the-box things you would like to see occur in”The Canvas” community?

How do you define worship?

What is worship? This question has the potential to get an ongoing answer. While many would attempt to define “worship” as a term. I believe the true meaning of worship, at least on the Christian landscape, beckons a deeper meaning, understanding, and action. Is traditionalism separating us from God?

Our thoughts, patterns, behaviors, beliefs, and even habits can put us in the danger zone of traditionalism. Perceptions of what a Christian is, or how a Christian is supposed to walk, talk, act, etc., church life, prayer life, home life, work life, social life are all areas where status quo can lead to complacencies and traditionalisms. Programmatic church services, systemic mundane living, or simply denominational or cultural belief systems are areas that I’ve personally encountered. What are some traditional systems you feel hinders your growth in God? As The Canvas community grows, what are some things we could do to avoid falling into traditionalism?

Grace as a weapon

Grace is one of the most valuable gifts given in Christianity next to forgiveness. However, the world has a tendency to weaponize “grace” against Christians, Even more confusing, Christians weaponize “grace” against other Christians. How does having grace, or not having grace, factor into the perception of believers and non-believers? Do non-believers get grace from God? How about in the old Testament before Christ was birthed and died for our redemption, where was grace?
